Just like natural teeth, dentures wear down and stain with age.  An average denture lasts between 5-7 years.  Since your mouth is constantly changing, it is important that your dentures fit properly.  It may be necessary to make adjustments from time-to-time.  You should visit your dentist yearly for a denture check-up or sooner if you start having irritation.

Everyone is different.  Some patients adjust quickly and others take a little longer.  They will feel strange at first and seem to be big.  This is very normal. Some people adjust in a week, while others may take a little longer.

We recommend lukewarm water and Dawn dish soap with a soft bristle toothbrush.  You should clean your dentures after every meal.  Avoid using toothpaste or denture cleaners.  Over time these products will take the polish off your dentures causing food and plaque to stick.
